Day to day weather pattern and Climatic condition of a region have major influence on the living beings on earth. It impacts all aspects of life, such as human beings, animals, plants, agriculture, landforms etc. On daily basis one can feel the essence of weather and climate which has considerable impact on their active life. In primitive era civilization was grown along the river. At later stage when agriculture practice was developed the rain-based crop pattern was identified. Different region on earth has different form of rain pattern and results in varying agricultural practices. The changing and different pattern of rainfall has direct link with the local weather and global climatic condition.
How to understand Weather and Climate?
Different region across the globe has different seasons across the year, there are various exceptions where it is same throughout the year. However, the major population of human being is witnessing varying season, it may be cold, summer, winter, rain etc. Season is typically a division in a year based on changing weather.
In a day to day life we witness the nature of atmosphere or our surrounding like, temperature, rainfall, humidity, cloudiness, sunshine etc. This is called weather which is never static and hence cannot be generalized. One region of a city may have cloudy sky, another may have bright sun light, and another may have heavy rain fall. The nature of weather at any place can change any point of time.
Climate is defined as average condition of weather pattern for an area. The average is obtained by using at least weather pattern of past 35 years. The average is static and can represent the condition of an area more accurately.
The main elements of climate are temperature; pressure; winds; and rainfall. All these elements are highly variable and constitute the weather of an area and climate in long run.
Types of Climate:
Global Climate:
Usually It is referred for worlds climate and used in broader prospects where the impact of global warming has increased or increasing the earths temperature results in melting of glaciers. Green house gases present in atmosphere trap the heat (due to anthropogenic activity, radiative) and thus increasing the average temperature of earth. It is estimated that by end of 21st Century the average temperature of earth will be increased by 2 to 3 degree centigrade.
Regional Climate:
It is a weather pattern which is referred for a certain geographical area for study or analysis. In broad term all types of climate are finally contributing towards Global climate. It is differentiated for sake of study and deeper analysis with reference to area. If we discuss about Indian Monsoon that means we are typically discussing about a regional climatic condition.
Local Climate:
It represents relatively a smaller geographical area, which means the weather pattern has impact on a region. Their weather pattern may or may not have larger impact on nearby area, however it effects and influence the weather pattern of regional climate.
